During my internship with ServiceNow, I was SCRUM Master on an application development project. Our team was instructed to come together to create a business name, business problem, personas and stakeholders, and an application that could automate and solve the problems of our client and end-users. Together, we came up with the company named “Insight Inspections”. Insight Inspections allows the client and user to communicate inspection needs, send email notifications that requests were received, and use forms to collect information digitally and produce trending data.

Problem:

Inspectors have evaluations that need to be performed in the field, across multiple shifts and days. The company needs to capture the evaluations being conducted, categorize them, and allow for supervision to identify fixes, and approve corrective actions. Trending data is also needed for tracking pass/fail inspection

Who will use our application and how does it work?

During our application build, we created user work flows for potential inspectors and other users within the work center. We developed a Service Portal with the ability to submit a request for a service catalog item or to create a record producer, notifying other inspectors that an inspection was needed. Joan is a persona we created. She represents the user’s need to automate the request process. She also shows the life cycle of a request within our portal.
